I knew how to build a company before I knew how to let the tender side of me be seen.
Being tough was familiar.
Being fully myself asked more of me.
Today, I work with women whose intelligence can fill a room and whose tenderness almost nobody gets to meet.
Women who want to be held without being handled. Who want someone to speak straight to them and still notice when something hurts.
We bring their witchiness, sexuality, sharp minds, and sensitivity into the same room.
The Black Panther. The RAW Woman.
That work began with my own return to the parts of myself I hadn’t known how to live as.
Motherhood opened that door.
I chose a water birth. I was making choices I hadn’t imagined making, listening to something in myself I was beginning to trust.
Then my daughter began having night terrors and describing spirits and shadow beings.
Trying to understand her experience drew me deeper into my own spiritual exploration.
And it brought me back to a girl I recognized.
The girl collecting rocks.
Playing with plants.
Drawn toward things she could feel before she could explain them.
My witchiness had been there all along.
So had the woman beneath the toughness.
There was tenderness I had protected. Shame around my sexuality I needed to work through. Parts of myself that needed somewhere to exist beyond the version of me who could handle everything.
As my life changed from building a company to becoming a stay-at-home mother, I was meeting a version of myself I hadn’t planned for.
Primal. Protective. Deeply sensitive.
Motherhood awoke in me the power to become the RAWest version of myself.
THE BLACK PANTHER AWOKE.
And that is why I see you.
The woman who sounds certain even when she’s hurting.
Who can make a difficult decision, then struggle to say, “I want you to take care of me tonight.”
Who wants to let her hair down but keeps checking whether everyone else is okay.

And you can feel yourself disappearing inside another performance.

You were told to be soft, when instead you should have been told,
“You can be RAW.”
I created The Black Panther Awakening to give that woman somewhere to emerge.
